How we verify

How NEXO checks its information

Every guide, form page and answer on NEXO is built from official Spanish sources that a person has checked. This is what that means in practice.

  • Official sources only

Every fact in a guide links to the official page it comes from: a ministry, the Policía Nacional, the Seguridad Social, the Generalitat, the Ajuntament de Barcelona or another public authority. Commercial websites are never a source for a fact. The Sources page lists every official page NEXO uses.

  • Checked by a person, and dated

Each guide shows the date it was last checked against its sources, and each official source on the page shows the date it was read. A form page shows the version of the official form it links to.

  • What is ours is labelled

Practical observations from NEXO's own experience appear in their own labelled section. They are not official information, carry no source, and are never used to answer questions in Ask NEXO.

  • Forms, one by one

An official form gets a page only after it has been signed off in NEXO's registry. The download goes to the authority's own file, and the official page opens the authority's own site.

  • How Ask NEXO uses this

Answers show the sources they used and whether NEXO has checked them. When there is no checked source, the answer says so. Situations such as irregular status, arraigo, family reunification, appeals and denials are passed to a person, a NEXO Expert or an independent professional, instead of being answered.

  • When something changes

Official pages change. If something on NEXO no longer matches its official source, write to [email protected] and we will check it against the source.
