The Ajuntament de Barcelona's trámite record for the alta en el Padrón municipal de habitantes describes a municipal registration procedure carried out online. It is not a national form, and there is no downloadable hoja padronal PDF. The page states that people aged 18 or over may carry out this trámite; companies and professionals are directed to a separate instancia genérica.

The application is submitted through the Ajuntament's portal. The form asks the applicant to identify themselves on the portal and to use an electronic signature (firma electrónica) to file the application in the registro telemático. The page recommends saving or printing the justificante issued on completing the trámite. If the documents submitted are correct, the Ajuntament sends an email confirming the new padrón in approximately seven calendar days.

Documents must be in Catalan or Spanish, or translated by the consulate, by a sworn translator or by a public administration, and accompanied by the original. The published maximum period for receiving a response is three months from the date of the application. The trámite is free of charge.
